Favorite Spring Lipsticks

Spring is one of my favorite beauty/fashion seasons simply for it's classic trends like pastels, floral and coral everything in regards to beauty. My most used and loved lipsticks during Spring are: Revlon Lip Butter in 'Tutti Frutti', YSL Volupte Sheer Candy in 'Tangy Mandarine', MAC lipstick in 'Ravishing' and Maybelline Vivids in 'Shocking Coral'.

All these lipsticks are comfortable on the lips, leave a beautiful finish and have great color pay off. Revlon's 'Tutti Frutti'  is an orange lipstick, but fear not, it's very wearable and flattering. Although the YSL one doesn't swatch as pigmented as others, it actually is my absolute favorite. It leaves amazing color on my lips and leaves a beautiful stain after the shine has worn off. MAC's 'Ravishing' is the prettiest peach lipstick that also pairs very well with a coral gloss on top. Maybelline's 'Shocking Coral' is a very bright pink based coral, however; it is fairly wearable on lips and just really pretty and fun.

Peter Thomas Roth Oilless Oil Review

Hype over facial oils

Facial oils have been the scene of skincare for awhile now and I've always been a fan of using oils in place of lotions and moisturizers for years now. Jojoba and coconut oil were my go to's for makeup removal, body lotion, and hair masks. Lately, the use of oil in beauty has expanded to all these new and exotic sources like maracuja, argon, etc.

My personal skin type:

I have very oily, acne prone skin with hyper pigmentation scars on my cheeks. I will post a detailed morning and night time skin care routine soon!

What oils I have used:

I have used Josie Maran's Argon oil and enjoyed it.

Squalane - the oilless oil?:

Peter Thomas Roth came out with a very interesting multi purpose oil (though like most beauty oils, primarily advertised for the face) that is meant for those who want the benefits of an oil but without the greasy feel that can come along with the use of most oils. It is priced at 38$ for 1 oz. (peterthomasroth.com)Squalane is actually naturally occurring in our own bodies, it is one of the lipids our skin cells produce and is in our own sebum(or oil). Using ingredients that are naturally occurring in our own bodies makes it far easier for our bodies to absorb them and penetrate into our skin while also reaping great benefits. (facts about squalane) It's benefits include: softening skin, balancing oil, reduces scars and hyper pigmentation, smoothing wrinkles, and overall softening skin.

How it has worked for me?:

I have been using this product for about 6 weeks and I have to say I am very impressed.  I only use two drops for my whole face and one drop for my neck. It absorbs very fast(not greasy) and can also be used in the morning, although I only use this at night as a nighttime moisturizer. Additionally, since such little product is needed, it will last for a very long time! Since I have began using this I noticed I don't have any dry patches around my nose or mouth anymore, my skin has gotten more even toned (not tremendously, but a noticeable improvement), and my skin feels plump and soft when I wake up. I plan on continuing to use this product and hope to see more improvement in my skin tone and clarity.

Bottom line:

I really recommend this product for all skin types, especially those who are acne prone and oily, although, I believe this oil is well suited for any skin type.
